13 partners across
7 EU countries and Canada
A multidisciplinary consortium combining research excellence, technological innovation, legal expertise, and industrial application.
KnoWare brings together 13 partners from 8 countries, spanning leading research institutions, universities, and industry organisations across Norway, Greece, France, Belgium, Spain, the UK, Luxembourg, and Canada.
Coordinated by SINTEF, the consortium combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, psychology and explainable AI, regulatory and legal analysis, and real-world deployment across high-stakes sectors such as energy trading, public health, maritime security, and food safety.
Together, the partners contribute complementary scientific, technical, and policy capabilities to develop and validate KnoWare’s prefiguration methodology for detecting emerging capabilities and risks in General-Purpose AI systems, ensuring the project’s outcomes are both scientifically robust and practically relevant to Europe’s AI governance landscape.
